A Song

Liam G.B. Murphy K'83

Amazing Grace How Sweet The Sound
Mourning waterfalls of glass
Haunted by chimes
Lonely whistles on the wind
That Saved A Wretch Like Me
Steely Certain and Absolute
Smug, Obdurate
Alone in the fog
I Once Was Lost But Now Am Found
The cold fog lifts
Friendship burns it away
And bounces on the couch
Was Blind But Now I See
Sunlight discovers new faces
Flowers opening in the mirror
And more

'Twas Grace That Taught My Heart To Sing
Loving learning without shame
Treating art like a game
In that one secret retreat
And Grace My Fears Relieved
Unlocking creativity
Unbinding shame
A constant reassurance
How Precious Did That Grace Appear
A reassuring hug
A loud ecumencial chorus
Among loyal friends
The Hour I First Believed
Bones and flesh try souls
But candles caress them back
Giving a final sense of grace
